For over 49 years, Casa de los Niños (CDLN) has served the Tucson community to prevent child abuse and neglect and to support and empower families. The organization delivers a continuum of evidence-based services to effectively address the needs of children and families in Southern Arizona. CDLN focuses on evidence-based and best practice models, melding together prevention, intervention, and treatment strategies to effectively address the needs of at-risk children and their families.
The demand for the services provided by CDLN has never been greater, particularly in behavioral health. CDLN’s next leader will have the opportunity to build upon the strong foundation cultivated over the past almost 50 years, including the expansion of its behavioral health services. The strategic evaluation of the return on investment on current programs and offerings will be important through a strategic lens.
Casa de los Niños is poised for growth and seeks an inspiring, empowering, and innovative proven leader with a demonstrated passion for our mission and a deep appreciation of, respect for and commitment to helping children and families. The next CEO will lead CDLN’s delivery of excellent performance outcomes in all areas of business and programming. This executive will lead the design of effective growth strategies including program expansion, recruitment and retention of high-quality staff, diversification, identifying and seeking federal/state grants, building strong community partnerships, and participating in active fundraising and endowment building.
The ideal candidate’s background includes nonprofit experience and is highlighted by a track record of high-level program administration; business acumen; exceptional written and verbal communication skills in multiple mediums; aptitude for public speaking; demonstrated experience in the child welfare, behavioral health, and/or human services-related field; and success in the ability to obtain government grants.
CDLN seeks a charismatic and interpersonal leader who is mission-focused and dedicated to improving the quality of life for the individuals and families we serve. Candidates for this position must have proven leadership qualities to bring vision, strategy, direction, a collaborative atmosphere, and inspiration to an organization.
Given the revenue streams at CDLN, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of successfully navigating large contractual agreements with governmental agencies and behavioral health entities and health plans.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated skills in operations and business management. Candidates must have proven success in providing mission-driven services utilizing sound business principles. Direct fundraising experience is a plus. Experience making strategic decisions in program design, development, and management in pursuit of the Board’s goals is expected.
A graduate degree in a human service-related field is strongly desired. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with commensurate post-graduate experience will be considered. Affiliation with and leadership in local, state, or national professional or trade associations related to human services is a plus.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary range for this position is between $215,000 and $240,000 and will be commensurable with experience. CDLN offers a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to 11 paid holidays, vacation, and group health and dental, as well as a retirement plan.
