Empowering moms, supporting families
Launched in 2009, Casa de los Niños offers you a free, personal nurse who will be by your side throughout your pregnancy and until your baby celebrates their second birthday. Your nurse will visit your home, not just to answer questions, but to be a trusted guide and advocate as you navigate the joys and stresses of motherhood. Our Registered Nurses are here to listen, offer personalized guidance and support you every step of the way.
Eligibility Criteria
This FREE program supports women who are:
- Pregnant
- Living in Pima County
- Meet income guidelines
They say it takes a village, and I have definitely referred to Casa de los Niños as ‘my village’ in the past!
– Phoebe, Nurse-Family Partnership Mom
Nurse-Family Partnership nurses build a therapeutic relationship with each client, championing clients’ strengths and addressing risk factors as shared by the mom or assessed by the nurse. Our nurses do not replace obstetricians, midwives, or pediatricians. Using the nursing process, the nurse creates a plan of care and provides nursing interventions, education, support, and resources that include but are not limited to: childbirth; mental health; client’s blood pressure and weight gain throughout pregnancy; family planning; nutrition; medication education; breastfeeding, formula feeding, and introduction of solids; infant growth, growth curves, developmental milestones and brain development; injury prevention and personal safety; and infection prevention
